Original |
Cafes, hotels, gift shops and brands that want their own product all arrive at the same question: how do you actually start a capsule coffee brand? Here is the order the decisions really come in, with numbers you can plan against.
What OEM means
OEM / private label means a factory produces the product under your brand — your name, your box, your artwork, your chosen blend. That is different from reselling someone else's brand, which carries thinner margins and builds no brand of your own.
The numbers to plan around
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Minimum order | 10,000 capsules total — deliverable in batches |
| Per capsule (our beans) | From ฿8, coffee and packing included |
| Per capsule (your beans) | ฿6 for grinding and packing; you supply the beans |
| Approximate starting budget | About ฿80,000 with our beans, or ฿60,000 with your own |
| Lead time | About 3–4 weeks |
| System | Compatible with Nespresso Original machines |
If you supply your own beans there is a 1,000-capsule minimum per production run (roughly 7 kg of coffee), because the line has to be cleaned down for your beans specifically.
The right order of decisions
- 1. Who are you selling to — your own counter, online, or hotel and gift use? Each implies very different volumes and packaging.
- 2. How many flavours — start with one or two. Six flavours splits the minimum into stock that sits.
- 3. Whose beans — ours (simple and fast) or your own (full control of taste, lower per capsule, more work for you).
- 4. Box and label — have a vector logo and box copy ready; it shortens the timeline a lot.
- 5. Retail price — cost per capsule plus box plus shipping, then check it against market prices.
Common mistakes
- Too many flavours in round one — cash tied up in stock before you know what sells.
- Forgetting box and shipping cost — real cost per box is always more than the capsules alone.
- Designing packaging before knowing dimensions — ask the factory for box specs first.
- Forgetting the customer needs a machine — Original-system capsules do not fit Vertuo or Dolce Gusto, so say so clearly (see our compatibility article).
Summary
Starting a capsule brand costs from tens of thousands to just over a hundred thousand baht depending on whose beans you use. The key is to start narrow and expand, and to line up your sales channel before you order production. For service details and a quote, see the OEM page or call 091-849-5263 · LINE @Capressocoffee.
